Facebook says in the past year, their machine learning tools have closed more than 6 billion fake accounts. These accounts are in addition to the millions of accounts that Facebook does not allow to happen every day.

According to Facebook, their AI tool has been operating for two years. This is the latest way to block fake accounts.

This tool uses a technology called Deep Entity Classification and analyzes active Facebook accounts.

In addition, the tool also monitors the behavior of individual Facebook profiles. This tool monitors thousands of activities such as sent friend requests, group joins or page likes. This AI tool also automatically learns over time, which also improves its performance.

Facebook says the tool reduces the number of spam accounts on the platform by 27 percent. The company says the fake accounts rate on Facebook is just 5%.
